I use mindfulness-based therapy and Somatic Experiencing® to help you regain your balance and flow in your life, so that anxiety and depression don’t run the show.

Often my clients come into therapy feeling that they want a more satisfying life with less struggle. You might be struggling with anxiety and symptoms such as restlessness, insomnia and stress. Or maybe your system pulls to the opposite direction and you are feeling shut down, numb, depressed or hopeless.

Whether you feel amped up or shut down, it can be confusing and frustrating to be experiencing physical and emotional sensations that feel either out of context or exaggerated.

But what if . . . our bodies are not undermining us but rather giving us clues of what needs attention?

All of us have inherent wisdom, resiliency, and warmth. However, if you have had experiences that overwhelm your body’s capacity to cope, your body develops adaptations in an attempt to keep you safe. It is these adaptations that need understanding and completion.
Because they are below the level of conscious awareness and stored in the body, we can use Somatic Experiencing® restore more ease and flow, to replace the tension and stress.

So, how do we do that?

We start by exploring what is happening in your life and how it looks right now.

  • What are the frustrating problems?
  • What would I like more or and less of?
  • How is work?
  • How are relationships and play?
  • What is working in your life?
  • What brings you joy?

And then we talk about your goals.

As your therapist, I hold all of these aspects of your life, and we shift our attention to the present moment – what is happening right now? Focusing on the present doesn’t take us away from your goals; it shows us where we need to start.

How does your body feel, what emotions are arising and what are the somatic patterns that need to be completed in order to move your system back into balance.

Somatic Experiencing® provides the framework for re-building regulation in the body. This regulation allows your changes to appear naturally, organically Is a more sustained and dependable resource/

What might surprise you about our work together?

My clients often report a sense of surprise that they can put down the fight. They feel shocked that the answer is to move toward sensation instead of away from it.

My fee $100 billed will be automatically by credit card at the end of session.

I do not currently accept insurance. You may be able to use your Out of Network Benefits depending on your specific insurance plan details and deductible status.
